Renée M. Shafran is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Group.

Her practice focuses on white collar criminal defense, complex civil disputes, and internal investigations.

Before joining CSG Law, Renée served as an Assistant Prosecutor in the Adult Trial Unit at the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office and completed several judicial clerkships at both the state and federal levels. She has clerked for the Honorable José R. Almonte, U.S.M.J. of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the Honorable Rukhsanah L. Singh, U.S.M.J. of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the Honorable Arthur J. Batista, J.S.C. of the New Jersey Superior Court, Essex County, Criminal Division. Renée’s extensive judicial experience allows her to provide clients with valuable guidance in navigating the legal process in both state and federal courts.

Renée earned her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she served as Senior Articles Editor for the Cardozo Law Review, and her B.S. from Appalachian State University, where she graduated cum laude. During law school, she interned at the New York County District Attorney’s Office, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, the New York State Attorney General’s Office, and the New York Police Department’s Legal Bureau.
