Michael Cross, Practice Group Leader of the CSG Law Litigation Group, is a seasoned attorney who handles the full spectrum of complex litigation matters across several industries and subject areas. He represents clients at every stage of a dispute – from pre-suit strategy through trial and appeal – and regularly appears in both federal and state courts in New Jersey and New York.

Michael’s practice is defined by its breadth. He manages matters ranging from commercial and labor and employment disputes to real estate, regulatory, and high-stakes business litigation. He also has extensive experience handling matters related to the region’s port industry – including maritime law issues – as well as ERISA withdrawal liability, providing clients with both depth and versatility.

Known for his strategic mindset, meticulous attention to detail, and client-first approach, Michael is a trusted advocate who navigates complex legal challenges with precision and focus. His ability to lead and align litigation strategy with client objectives – paired with clear, effective communication – consistently drives strong outcomes and has earned him the respect of clients, colleagues, and adversaries alike.

Michael received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law. He earned his B.A., in Finance, from James Madison University. During law school, he worked as a Research Assistant in the school’s Center for Social Justice Clinic and interned for the Honorable Michael A. Petrolle, J.S.C., of the Superior Court of New Jersey, gaining valuable early exposure to the courtroom and judicial decision-making.
