Alexander T. Payne is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Group.
Alex is a skilled litigator with an extensive background in complex commercial litigation, as well as securities litigation. Alex has represented banks, corporations, and officers and directors in a range of complex litigation involving asset-backed securities and financial instruments, mergers and acquisitions, alleged breaches of contract, business torts, and fiduciary duty claims.
Prior to joining CSG Law, Alex was an associate at a New York-based law firm, where he litigated complex securities fraud cases on behalf of classes of shareholders and institutional clients. Alex also worked as an associate at another law firm in New York where he represented financial institutions and corporations in regulatory and enforcement matters, complex commercial litigation, securities litigation, as well as shareholder derivative and fiduciary duty litigation.
During law school, Alex served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Loretta A. Preska while she was Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (S.D.N.Y.) and also interned for the Investor Protection Bureau of the New York State Office of the Attorney General, where he gained experience investigating and prosecuting securities fraud.
Alex earned his J.D., cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law where he was a member of the Fordham Law Review and, in recognition of his academic excellence, was a recipient of the Henrietta Metcalf Contract Prize for excellence in the study of Contracts and a recipient of the Fordham University School of Law Legal Writing Award.
