CSG Law Congratulates Rafael Corbalan and Michael J. Mouridy on NJSBA Leadership Academy Graduation

Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi PC (“CSG Law”) congratulates Rafael Corbalan and Michael J. Mouridy on their recent graduation from the New Jersey State Bar Association (“NJSBA”) Leadership Academy.

The NJSBA Leadership Academy provides intensive learning, career development, knowledge sharing, and networking opportunities pivotal to leadership in the bar, the workplace, and the community.

Rafael practices with the firm’s Environmental Law Group. Before joining CSG Law, Rafael worked as an associate attorney representing local government and private businesses in a variety of matters including but not limited to environmental litigation, environmental remediation, labor and employment, immigration law and residential landlord/tenant claims.

“The Leadership Academy touched on a lot of interesting topics ranging from the importance of personal wellness in the profession to refining interpersonal skills,” he said. “Moreover, it’s obvious that we are living in a time of rapid change, and the future is going to bring various opportunities and challenges (e.g., artificial intelligence) that may drastically transform how we practice law. My key takeaway from the Leadership Academy was learning more about how the NJSBA advocates for the profession in the face of these changes.”

Michael is Counsel with the firm’s Real Estate Group. Michael advises clients on a wide variety of asset-based secured transactions, with particular emphasis on real estate transactions involving residential, commercial and mixed-use complexes, office buildings, condominiums, vacant land and development sites throughout the New York metropolitan area and nationally.

“The New Jersey State Bar Association has a very large breadth of work, and advocates for many different issues facing the State bar,” he said. “My favorite seminar was the session with Elise Holtzman, of The Lawyer’s Edge, in which we learned, based on our own specific personality types, how we may best use our natural strengths to facilitate success in our careers. We had the privilege to meet with, and learn from, Justices of the New Jersey Supreme Court, as well as State legislators.”
