April 19, 2012
“Is the Sun Setting on Solar Projects in New Jersey?”, a solar energy program designed to give attendees a multi-faceted look at the current state of the solar energy market in New Jersey, will be held on April 19, 2012 from 8:00 am to 10:30 am at The Venetian in Garfield, NJ. Joseph L. Fiordaliso, a commissioner of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, will be the keynote speaker.
New Jersey's solar market is the most dynamic and fastest growing in the country; however, the economics for solar projects have changed dramatically in the last three months. As a result, solar energy projects in New Jersey have become more of a challenge than in years past. Decisions about whether and when to proceed with projects, re-engineering or restructuring projects, or selling projects outright are all critical factors in today’s market. Issues such as financing, deciding between debt or tax equity, potential legislative changes and the proper structuring of projects all need to be carefully evaluated in the current environment. Is the sun setting on solar projects in New Jersey -- or is a new dawn on the horizon?
Solar industry leaders Sax Macy Fromm & Co., Wolff & Samson PC and Walsh Carter & Associates Insurance Services are partnering to present a three-pronged overview and analysis of the current solar energy market in New Jersey, which will assist property owners, developers, lenders and investors navigate the rapidly changing solar landscape. Attendees will be presented with an in-depth discussion of regulatory, accounting, tax, legal and insurance issues specific to solar energy projects, as well as an up-to-date look at the market for solar projects in New Jersey. Moderating the program will be Jeffrey Milanaik, President of Heller Industrial Parks, Inc.
