NLRB Delays New Rule Requiring Employers To Post NLRA Rights Notice
November 17, 2011
Wolff & Samson recently issued an Employment Law Alert advising employers of a new National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) rule requiring most private-sector employers to post notice in the workplace informing employees of their rights under the National Labor Relations Act. However, after the announcement of this rule, several lawsuits were initiated challenging the NLRB’s authority to initiate this new requirement. The NLRB subsequently delayed the effective date of compliance of the rule to January 31, 2012. This delay, however, does not affect any preexisting requirements imposed upon federal contractors and sub-contractors to post such notices.
The firm will provide updates as to the implementation of this new rule as such updates occur.
