Prior to joining the firm, Stephen served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps. As a military prosecutor, he investigated and litigated a number of complex and high-profile cases, including attempted murder, sexual assault, firearm offenses, governmental fraud, child exploitation, and drug distribution. Stephen also served as legal advisor for the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, guiding undercover operations and subsequent prosecutions. While in the Marine Corps, he was appointed as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Hawaii.
Stephen also served as the Legal Assistance Officer-in-Charge, and was responsible for advising Marines and Sailors on a wide-range of civil legal matters, including contractual issues, tax questions, family law, and immigration issues.
Stephen received his J.D. from Pennsylvania State University. While in law school, he was captain of the National Trial Competition team and a Team Member of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. Stephen earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from Providence College.
