Darren Grzyb concentrates on surety and construction matters in New York and New Jersey. Focused on securing positive results in difficult situations, he brings to his practice a passion for personal attention, client collaboration and adding value.
Darren’s primary client base consists of surety companies that execute both contract and commercial bonds. He has consulted surety companies on all phases of the suretyship relationship – beginning with the execution of bonds, including bonds collateralized with security interests in exotic property, working with sureties’ distressed principals prior to claims being made, handling default terminations and performance and payment bond claims, and salvage and recovery. He has also represented construction project owners, general contractors and subcontractors.
Darren is an active member of state and national bar associations. He regularly lectures at surety industry meetings, including for the American Bar Association—Fidelity and Surety Law Committee, the DRI, and the Northeast Surety and Fidelity Claims Conference, and has had multiple articles published relating to these presentations.
Darren graduated with high honors from Rutgers Law School, where he was an associate notes editor for the Rutgers Journal of Law and Religion. After graduation, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Francine I. Axelrad of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division.
