Immigration in the Workplace: Are Your Employees Employment Eligible?

June 16, 2006

On June 16, 2006, Wolff & Samson PC hosted a seminar entitled ”Immigration in the Workplace: Are Your Employees Employment Eligible?” as part of its ongoing Employers Breakfast Briefing Series. This seminar was conducted by Neil S. Dornbaum, Esq., a prominent immigration attorney and one of the founding partners of Dornbaum & Peregoy. The seminar focused on an employer’s obligation to verify an employee’s identity and employment eligibility, the scope of permissible inquiries, an employer’s obligation to terminate individuals who are not employment eligible, and the potential sanctions for employers for violations of federal law. It provided in-depth guidance to employers for complying with requirements to complete, update, and retain Employment Eligibility Verifications, Form I-9, for all employees, whether U.S. citizens or non-U.S. citizens. For further information regarding this seminar, please contact Catherine P. Wells, Esq., Wolff & Samson PC, at: (973)-530-2051 or email her at:cwells@wolffsamson.com.
