June 13, 2011

Wolff & Samson is pleased to announce that the firm and its attorneys have once again been recognized in the latest edition of Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business. In the newly released 2011 Chambers rankings, three of the firm’s practice areas and nine of its members – up from four members in 2010 – are included in what is widely considered one of the most prestigious guides in the legal industry.

The following Wolff & Samson practice areas are recognized as among the leading practices in New Jersey:

Environmental (Band 1). As noted in Chambers: “Wolff & Samson is distinguished by its hugely diverse clientele and an excellent understanding of environmental regulatory agencies. Members of the team are well versed in issuing guidance on such matters as permitting, compliance and transactional due diligence, although they have this year been hugely active in litigation and enforcement actions. Its experience in this field has been honed through acting for top-flight manufacturers right down to small and medium-sized regional businesses. Practitioners are also involved in less commonplace transactions, such as green energy and wetlands interests.”

Litigation (Band 3). Of the firm’s Litigation Group, Chambers states: “Wolff & Samson houses a large litigation team with a longstanding familiarity with the court system of New Jersey, and experience in alternative dispute resolution proceedings. A significant proportion of the team's efforts is devoted to regulatory litigation, and of late it has handled a steady volume of construction and sureties disputes… [The Group] has a thorough work ethic and impressive breadth. The lawyers are comfortable and confident in dealing with even the most complex of situations."

Corporate/M&A (Band 3). According to the Chambers editorial: “Interviewees suggest that this practice is aiming high in meeting its clients' expectations, an approach that underpins its advice on everything from M&A transactions to financings and joint ventures. The group has positioned itself as able to smooth out the corporate concerns of any size of client... It has also been assisting clients in a number of secured sales brought under Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code.”

In addition, Wolff & Samson is extremely pleased to note that Chambers selected the following nine members of the firm as among the leading practitioners in New Jersey:
